A second work meeting was held at FESB, University of Split, with the participation of all project collaborators. The discussion centered on the project's current progress and the planning of future activities.



The principal investigator Prof. Sandro Nižetić and project collaborator Jelena Bošnjak Hordov attended the International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management (CRETE 2025) held in Chania, Greece. During the event, the collaborator presented a paper titled "Impact of Eggshell Incorporation and Preparation Techniques on Thermal Properties of Potential Waste-Derived Phase Change Materials."

Principal project investigator, Professor Sandro Nižetić has provided invited lecture at North university of China on May 11th, Taiyuan. The key content of the lecture was directed to the topic of energy transition and presentation of photovoltaic technologies, suitable solutions that can accelerate energy transition in Shanxi province. Within the lecture the current research activities on the HRZZ research project were also presented to the wide audience.

Principal project investigator, Professor Sandro Nižetić has provided invited lecture at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Nanjing, China on May 9th. The lecture was focused on the photovoltaic technologies in energy transition. The activities related to the ongoing HRZZ research project were also discussed with participants, with discussion of the novel potential future collaboration areas.

Project collaborator Jelena Bošnjak Hordov and prof. Marija Ćosić participated in the 5th edition of Conference of scientists, professionals and students on the topic of environmental protection. Jelena presented the research work done as a part of HRZZ project with a presentation titled "The potential of waste materials for use in thermal energy storage: The impact of incorporating eggshells on the thermal properties of oils and fat".
Professor Sandro Nižetić, the project leader, conducted a working visit to the People’s Republic of China from November 18 to 28. During the visit, he engaged with several universities and delivered a series of lectures to students and university faculty members. The lectures addressed the role and development of photovoltaic technologies in the context of energy transition, as well as future energy trends. He also presented scientific research activities carried out at the Laboratory for Thermodynamics and Energy Efficiency, along with project activities and the outcomes of the HRZZ project.
The first lecture, accompanied by a working meeting with the university administration, took place at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, where it was agreed that a delegation from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture (FESB) would visit Nanjing in 2025. Additionally, collaboration with Southeast University was successfully continued, including a series of lectures.
The visit concluded at Harbin Institute of Technology, where Professor Nižetić delivered two lectures, toured several laboratories, and held a working meeting with the International Cooperation Office.

Professor Sandro Nižetić, head of the project, delivered a keynote talk during the opening of the International Conference on Cleaner Energy Transition. The conference was held in Kraków from October 21 to October 23. His talk focused on the current state of photovoltaic technologies in energy transition, discussing ways to improve energy conversion efficiency of PV systems and expand their potential implementation areas. Professor Nižetić also chaired and evaluated papers presented in the poster session. Additionally, activities related to the HRZZ project were discussed and presented.

The project's principal investigator, Prof. Sandro Nižetić, delivered an invited speech Photovoltaic technologies in energy transition at the 19th SDEWES conference, which took place from September 8 to 12, 2024, in Rome, Italy. The event gathered 690 scientists, researchers, and experts in sustainable development from 62 countries across six continents, with 570 attending in person and 120 joining online.


PhD students Ivan Čorić and Jelena Bošnjak Hordov participated in the 9th edition of Conference on Smart and Sustainable Technologies - Splitech 2024- and presented the research work done as a part of HRZZ project. Ivan presented an overview of Cooling Approaches for Silicon Based Photovoltaic Panels by Implementation of Phase Change Materials, while Jelena discussed an overview of Thermophysical Properties of Organic Waste-Based Phase Change Composites.
A work meeting was organized at FESB, University of Split, with all project collaborators in attendance. The discussion focused on the project's current status and plans for upcoming activities.

The principal investigator, Prof. Dr. Sandro Nižetić has provided invited talk at University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus. The lecture was provided for students of MEL program (Master of Engineering Leadership) with participation of professors from UBC. The lecture was related to the photovoltaic technoloiges. The HRZZ project activites were also presented during the lecture.

The principal investigator, Prof. Dr. Sandro Nižetić has provided invited talk at School of Energy and Enviroment at Southeast University (Nanjing, China). The lecture participated PhD and master students as well as professors from the school. The lecture was focused on the photovoltaice technoligies and where also ongoing HRZZ project was sucesfully presented.

The principal investigator, Prof. Dr. Sandro Nižetić has provided invited plenary lecture at 5th International Conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering (ICAME-2024) and that was organized in Chennai (India), from March 20-22, 2024. Topic of the talk was focused on the photovoltaic technoloiges in energy transition. The current project activities at HRZZ project were also presented during presentation.
